Following her internship in internal medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Dr. Hurley pursued specialized training in dermatology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
During her residency, Dr. Hurley’s passion for dermatological research led her to investigate the efficacy of chemical peels for treating melasma, a common skin condition characterized by brown facial pigmentation. Her groundbreaking research on this topic was published in the renowned Archives of Dermatology.
