Certified by the American Board of Surgery, he then underwent specialized training in liver and multi-organ transplantation at UCLA under the mentorship of renowned transplant surgeons Ronald W. Busuttil, M.D., Ph.D., and Douglas G. Farmer, M.D., from 2006 to 2008.
