He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Texas A&M University in 2009, followed by his Medical Degree from the Texas A&M School of Medicine in 2015. His pediatric residency at WVU Medicine (July 2015 to June 2018) and subsequent fellowship in neonatology at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital (June 2018 to July 2021) equipped him with the skills necessary to excel in his current role.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Nicolwala serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Renaissance School of Medicine at Stony Brook University. His research interests include Antibiotic Stewardship, Point-of-Care Ultrasound, and the integration of technology to enhance neonatal care. Through these initiatives, he aims to advance the science of neonatology while ensuring that patient care remains at the forefront.

Dr. Nicolwala is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the New York Perinatal Society, the Section of Perinatal Pediatrics of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians, among others. His participation in these organizations reflects his commitment to staying at the forefront of pediatric care and contributing to the broader medical community.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Nicolwala enjoys listening to music, drawing from his experience as a former radio DJ in college. His multifaceted interests reflect his belief in the importance of balance and well-being in both personal and professional realms.
