He then attended Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, earning his Doctor of Medicine Degree in 1991. While at Morehouse, he was honored with the Family Practice Student Award, showcasing his dedication to patient-centered care from the outset of his career.
Following medical school, Dr. Mansfield completed a surgical residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. His exceptional skills and commitment to teaching earned him several accolades, including the Teaching Resident of the Year and the OWL Club Outstanding Resident Award. His tenure at Tulane culminated in a residency in otolaryngology from 1993 to 1996, where he served as Chief Resident in the Ear, Nose, and Throat program. He became board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery in 1998, further solidifying his expertise in the field.
