Meet Kumapley Lartevi, MD: Board Certified and Fellowship Trained Family Physician

Expanding the Mission of Accessible Healthcare with The Convenient Clinic

Dr. Kumapley Lartevi, a board-certified family physician, is making significant strides in improving healthcare access for underserved communities in Washington, D.C., through his practice, The Convenient Clinic. Focusing on providing high-quality primary and urgent medical care, the clinic serves hundreds of patients every month, addressing the pressing healthcare needs of the capital’s marginalized populations.

Born in New Orleans to West African parents, Dr. Lartevi earned his Medical Degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University (Medical College of Virginia) School of Medicine in 2009. After graduation, he completed his internship and residency at Georgetown University Family Medicine Residency Program in 2012.   He further enhanced his skills with a fellowship in Hospice & Palliative Medicine at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in 2014.

At The Convenient Clinic, Dr. Lartevi is supported by dedicated staff and partners including medical assistants, laboratory and radiology technicians, whose multifaceted roles ensure the clinic runs smoothly and efficiently. With a commitment to full-spectrum care, urgent care, episodic care, and symptom management, the clinic stands out as a beacon of hope for those who often face barriers to healthcare access.  The clinic strives for excellence in living up to their slogan Quick-Kind-Quality-CARE.

“I truly believe we live in the greatest society in the world,” Dr. Lartevi emphasizes. “As such, we should exemplify that greatness with how we care for all people, including marginalized, underserved disadvantaged communities.” His vision extends beyond the current clinic, as he is actively seeking opportunities to expand to other communities and geographies in need. Despite the challenges facing independent clinics in today’s healthcare environment, he is confident that The Convenient Clinic can make an impact.

Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Lartevi enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, engaging in sports, listening to music, exploring creative hobbies and traveling. He is fluent in English and the native African dialect Ewe.  He also has moderate fluency in French. He regards communication and tolerance as vital components of connecting with a diverse patient population.

As The Convenient Clinic thrives, Dr. Lartevi remains steadfast in enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality. A special focus is placed on those most in need. The clinic’s growth will further solidify its role in the community, ensuring all individuals receive the compassionate and comprehensive care they deserve. The clinic aims to be the best at providing efficient medical care for non-life threatening medical concerns.  The clinic can provide primary care or work alongside a patient’s primary care provider to maintain and restore their best health.

The clinic aspires to care for the world one global citizen at a time.
