Fort Worth Native Returns to Her Roots: Meredith Yount, PA-C, Takes on Leadership Role at Mercy Clinic of Fort Worth

From Family Medicine to Non-Profit Care: A Passion for Serving the Underserved

Meredith Yount, PA-C, a Fort Worth native and passionate healthcare professional, is excited to announce her new role as Assistant Medical Director at Mercy Clinic of Fort Worth. With a robust background in family medicine and a deep commitment to serving the community, she is poised to make a significant impact in her new position at this vital non-profit clinic.

Born and raised in Fort Worth, she attended All Saints Episcopal School before pursuing her passion for science at Texas A&M University, where she studied Biomedical Science. Her journey into healthcare began in her father’s veterinary practice, where her fascination with medicine blossomed. Inspired by a conversation with a client who was a Physician Assistant (PA), she discovered a rewarding career path that perfectly combined her love for patient interaction with her interest in healthcare.

In 2008, Meredith graduated from The University of North Texas Health Science Center’s Physician Assistant program. Over the past 16 years, she honed her skills in a busy family medicine group, gaining invaluable experience and knowledge while providing compassionate care to her patients. During this time, she also dedicated herself to volunteering at Mercy Clinic of Fort Worth, a non-profit organization that offers free medical and dental services to uninsured individuals living near the poverty line.

Recently, she made the transformative decision to leave private practice and fully commit to her role at Mercy Clinic, where she can continue to help patients while also taking on leadership responsibilities. “This new role as Assistant Medical Director allows me to combine my passion for patient care with my desire to enhance the quality of care we provide,” she said. “I am excited to lead our medical team and ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our community effectively.”

In her new position, Meredith is dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment among the medical staff, ensuring that the clinic remains a beacon of hope for those in need. As she embarks on this new chapter, she is eager to expand Mercy Clinic’s reach and impact in Fort Worth.
