Furthering her training she then completed a two-year fellowship at the prestigious Cincinnati Eye Institute in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology.
Dr. Malik is board certified in ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. The American Board of Ophthalmology is an independent, nonprofit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists (eye physicians and surgeons) in the United States. Founded in 1916, the ABO was the first American Board established to certify medical specialists and is one of 24 specialty Boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties and the American Medical Association.
She has published multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. Dr. Malik has participated in multiple international medical mission trips, providing eye surgery for patients in Honduras and El Salvador.
