Columbia, Missouri – Julie McCowan serves as a Nurse Navigator at Columbia Orthopaedic Group, providing exceptional care and support to patients navigating their orthopedic healthcare journeys.
Julie began her nursing career after completing a rigorous Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program at Columbia College in 1994. She went on to enhance her qualifications by obtaining her Registered Nurse (RN) certification in 1998. Her professional journey has taken her through a variety of prestigious medical institutions, including Dialysis Clinic, Inc., Callaway Hospital Fulton Emergency Room, and Audrain Medical Center, which transitioned to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital-Audrain. Next, she was employed at the Surgical Center, Columbia Orthopaedic Most recently, she joined Columbia Orthopaedic Group in November 2023, where she utilizes her diverse skill set to improve patient outcomes as a Total Joint Nurse Navigator.
Throughout her illustrious career, Julie has developed expertise in multiple areas of nursing, including hemodialysis, emergency services, and critical care, as well as preoperative and postoperative nursing in orthopaedics, This extensive background and skills allow her to provide comprehensive support to patients, ensuring they receive the care and information they need at every stage of their treatment.
