Houston, Texas – Kiesa Edgar, RN, a dedicated healthcare professional with 15+ years of experience in nursing and patient care, has exemplified the spirit of commitment and compassion throughout her educational and professional journey. 

Kiesa began her studies at Houston Community College, where she earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Pre-Nursing Studies in 2014, graduating with a commendable 3.6 GPA. Her passion for nursing led her to obtain her License Vocational Nursing (LVN) Certification at the College of the Mainland in 2015, where she actively participated in the Vocational Nursing Student Organization, further demonstrating her commitment to the nursing profession. Kiesa’s pursuit of excellence continued at Galveston College, where she completed her Registered Nurse (RN) Program in 2016 with another strong GPA of 3.6. Her educational journey culminated in 2024 when she earned a Master’s Degree from United States University, solidifying her dedication to advancing her expertise in nursing. 

Kiesa’s professional journey began in January 2009 as a Patient Care Technician II/Psychiatric Tech at Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston, where she served for nearly six years. She later joined The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in June 2010, further expanding her experience in patient care. In 2015, Keisa took a significant step forward in her career by becoming a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) at Gulf Coast Health Care, LLC. Over the course of eight months, she was responsible for monitoring patients’ conditions, administering IV therapy, performing tracheostomy care, wound care, and medication administration. She also took on supervisory responsibilities, overseeing orderlies and nursing assistants, while educating patients’ families on follow-up and preventive care.

Since December 2014, Kiesa has been serving as a Staff Nurse (LVN/RN) at Promise Hospital of Houston. In this role, she manages a caseload of up to eight patients with diverse medical conditions in both preoperative and postoperative stages. Her responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments, assisting in recovery after surgery, developing and coordinating care plans with physicians and nursing teams, and educating patients on health promotion, disease management, and recovery strategies. Kiesa’s ability to make sound, ethical, and independent decisions, coupled with her strong clinical skills, has been instrumental in providing high-quality, patient-centered care for over a decade.

Kiesa’s unwavering dedication to her profession is fueled by her desire to make a difference in the lives of others. She credits her father as a primary motivation and believes in the power of compassion in healthcare. “Every interaction is an opportunity to change a life,” Kiesa emphasizes.
