Margo Rowan, RN, BSN, is making significant strides in the field of nursing, showcasing her passion for critical care and her dedication to patient advocacy. With over seven years of experience, Margo currently serves as a Staff Nurse II at NorthShore University Health System, based in Chicago, Illinois, where she employs her expertise in the intensive care unit to provide exceptional care to adult patients. 

Since November 2023, Margo has utilized her advanced clinical skills and critical care knowledge to enhance patient outcomes in a full-time, on-site capacity. Her commitment to excellence is evident in her reputation as a flexible team player and an outstanding communicator, qualities that have earned her the respect of both colleagues and patients alike.

Prior to her role at NorthShore, Margo spent over five years at Ascension in Chicago, working as a Critical Care Registered Nurse in both the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). Her experience in these high-pressure environments has sharpened her critical thinking abilities, patient assessment skills, and emergency response tactics, allowing her to thrive in challenging situations where every decision counts.

Margo’s journey in nursing began with a personal inspiration—watching her father battle illness in the ICU. This experience ignited her passion for caring for critically ill patients and motivated her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing in 2013. Currently, she is advancing her education by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Nursing Leadership and Administration at Capella University, aiming to further enhance her impact on the nursing field.

In her current role, Margo is committed to building strong relationships with patients and their families, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with medical professionals to optimize health outcomes. Her goal is to set a positive example for her children and to be the best person she can be, both professionally and personally.

Looking ahead, Margo aspires to become a Chief Nursing Officer upon completion of her Master’s Degree, with the vision of advocating for nurses and patients alike. Her dedication to improving the quality of care and her passion for nursing make her a valuable asset to the healthcare community.
