Educated in the United States, Dr. Shen graduated from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in 2013. He subsequently completed a rigorous one-year surgical internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center in North Philadelphia, where he honed his surgical skills and developed a comprehensive understanding of patient care.
Following his internship, he proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years, where he embraced various critical roles, including flight surgeon and deployment support in challenging environments across Africa and Iraq. His military experience provided him with unique insights into austere medicine, critical care transport, public health, and health administration.
After completing his military service, Dr. Shen furthered his medical expertise by completing a three-year family medicine residency program, where he excelled as chief resident during his final year. This significant leadership role allowed him to mentor fellow residents and medical students, reinforcing his commitment to education and professional development within the healthcare community.
