Academically, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin before earning his Masters Degree in Medical Education from Midwestern University in 2003. His extensive medical training and commitment to continuous learning have positioned him as a leading figure in the Physician Associate community. James continues to be involved in PA education as an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University. He is dedicated to enhancing the PA profession and ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible to all by working with the American Associates of Physician Associates, Illinois Association of Physician Associates, Physician Associates for Latino Health, and Society of Physician Associates in Pediatrics.

In 2015, he was honored with the PAEA Partnership Award from the Physician Assistant Education Association, as well as the Outstanding Preceptor Award from the Northwestern University PA program.
