Jessica’s extensive experience encompasses well-woman exams, contraceptive counseling, and menopausal care, all aimed at empowering women to make informed decisions about their health and wellness. Her trauma-informed approach, rooted in a strong background in emergency care, ensures that each patient receives personalized support throughout the prenatal, labor, and postpartum stages. By combining evidence-based practices with a holistic perspective, Jessica respects the unique needs and values of every woman she cares for.

“I believe in the power of education and advocacy,” Jessica says. “My goal is to enhance maternal and newborn outcomes through personalized care, allowing my patients to feel informed and empowered in their healthcare journeys.”

Jessica Zimmerman will soon be joining Western Sierra Medical Clinic in Grass Valley, CA, as a Certified Nurse Midwife. She will begin her new role in the coming weeks, bringing her expertise and dedication to providing exceptional maternal and reproductive healthcare to the community.

Jessica’s educational journey began at Nevada State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013. Her passion for women’s health led her to Georgetown University, where she recently obtained her Master of Science in Nursing Degree in 2023 as a CNM/WHNP. 

As a member of the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, Jessica is dedicated to advancing the field of women’s healthcare. Additionally, her affiliations with the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) further solidify her broad expertise in the medical field.

During her clinical rotations, Jessica gained valuable experience coordinating care across diverse healthcare settings, including hospitals, birth centers, and outpatient clinics. Known for her ability to build trust with patients and families, she excels in interdisciplinary collaboration, working alongside doctors, nurses, and specialists to create cohesive care plans that prioritize patient safety and well-being.

Jessica attributes her success to her open-minded approach and dedication to continuous learning. “I strive for growth every day and work hard to improve my skills,” she explains. Her mother played a pivotal role in shaping her career path, recognizing Jessica’s passion for science and her potential to make a meaningful impact in healthcare—something Jessica had never considered before.

Now, with 11 years of experience in the medical field, Jessica finds immense joy in caring for her patients, collaborating with her team, and educating those she serves. She is deeply fulfilled by the ability to make a difference in people’s lives while continuously expanding her knowledge. In her spare time, Jessica enjoys reading the Journal of Midwifery & Women’s Health, always looking for ways to further her expertise and grow within the medical field.
