Tarshia Donald, LPN, Elevates Patient Care as Nurse Coordinator at Carol Woods
Setting the Standard for Excellence in Senior Care and Advocacy
Carol Woods, a distinguished not-for-profit continuing care retirement community in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, is proud to announce the appointment of Tarshia Donald, LPN, as Nurse Coordinator. With a robust educational foundation and a passion for patient advocacy, Tarshia is set to enhance the high-quality care provided to residents in this vibrant university town.
Located in a community rich with educational, cultural, and medical resources, Carol Woods has built a reputation as one of the nation’s leading continuing care retirement communities. Residents benefit from an active lifestyle that promotes learning, growth, and contribution, all within an inclusive environment that honors diverse backgrounds and perspectives. The community’s commitment to holistic well-being aligns with its philosophy of enhancing individual quality of life and fostering a sense of life satisfaction, meaning, and purpose.
Bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role, Tarshia completed her Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse Training at ECPI University in 2006, laying the groundwork for her clinical expertise. Following this, she pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Phoenix in 2012, equipping herself with essential leadership skills. Her commitment to healthcare management culminated in a Master of Science in Health/Health Care Administration and Management from Strayer University in 2016.
Beyond her professional qualifications, Tarshia attributes her success to her unwavering determination and refusal to accept “no” as an answer. The word “no” simply isn’t in her vocabulary. Her strong sense of purpose is also rooted in her faith; as a minister, Tarshia is able to offer spiritual support to the nursing staff, residents, and their families when needed, providing a unique and compassionate approach to care.
Her desire to become a nurse began at a young age, taking care of her grandmother and grandfather, and serving in the hospitality area at her church. Starting her career as a CNA, Tarshia went on to become an LPN, but she noticed a lack of respect for nurses, which motivated her to pursue a career where she could advocate for her colleagues.
“I believe that nurses deserve to be empowered and heard,” Tarshia remarked. “I am committed to ensuring that my team receives the respect they deserve while providing exceptional care to our residents.”
Tarshia Donald’s dedication to patient advocacy and her holistic approach to care embody the values of Carol Woods, ensuring a nurturing and supportive atmosphere for all residents.
