Tamara (Suni) Dugan, a highly respected nurse at McAlester Regional Health Center, is making significant strides in the healthcare community with her unwavering dedication to patient care. A proud graduate of Quinton High School in 1994, she furthered her education in nursing at Eastern Oklahoma State College, where she earned her degree in 2004. Recently, she completed her studies at Western Governors University, receiving her Bachelor’s Nursing degree in 2023, and is currently enrolled at South University’s Master Degree FNP Program.  Her academic achievements, coupled with years of hands-on experience, have positioned her as a leader in healthcare within the McAlester community.

In her role as RN Clinic Nurse Manager at McAlester Regional Health Center, Suni is dedicated to improving patient outcomes and fostering a supportive environment for both patients and staff. “I believe that effective communication is key to building trust with my patients,” she explains. “When patients feel heard and understood, their overall experience improves, and we can work together towards better health.”

She attributes her success to her mentor, Kimberly Stout, who has played a pivotal role in her career development. “Kimberly encouraged me to take on leadership roles and pushed me to advance my career,” she reflects. “Her support has been invaluable, and I strive to pay it forward by mentoring others in our field.”
