Vincenza Guariniello, PsyD, a dedicated clinical child and adolescent psychologist, has joined the faculty at the Student Health Center at Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut, where she has been making a positive impact since 2021. With a strong educational background and a wealth of experience, Dr. Guariniello is poised to provide exceptional support to the school’s youth and their families.
Dr. Guariniello began her educational journey at St. Francis College, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2013. She continued her studies at the same institution, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Applied Behavioral Psychology in 2014. Her passion for psychology led her to the University of Hartford’s Graduate Institute of Professional Psychology, where she completed her Doctor of Psychology Degree in 2021.
Her clinical training includes an American Psychological Association (APA) -accredited doctoral psychology internship at Astor Services for Children and Families in Dutchess County. During her internship, Dr. Guariniello worked as a clinical specialist for diverse youth, including female, male, and transgender individuals, within both outpatient community mental health and unlocked psychiatric residential treatment settings. Her role involved collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to establish treatment goals, safety plans, and positive behavior incentive systems, as well as providing individual, family, and group therapy. Dr. Guariniello also completed comprehensive psychological evaluations, further honing her skills in assessment and intervention.
At Westminster School, Dr. Guariniello aims to foster a supportive and nurturing environment for students, emphasizing the importance of balancing structure, flexibility, and fun in their lives. She plans to continue working within a multidisciplinary team and aspires to become board-certified in clinical child and adolescent psychology.
