Meet Loretta Wangler: Passionate Registered Nurse and Board-Certified Nurse Coach
Empowering the Next Generation of Nurses at Lake Region State College
Since joining the LRSC Nursing Department in August 2021, Wangler has played a role in advancing the college’s mission to prepare compassionate, competent nurses equipped to meet the evolving demands of healthcare. A graduate of Lake Region State College herself, Wangler began her nursing career with an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Registered Nursing before earning a BSN from The University of Texas at Arlington and an MSN from Colorado Technical University.
Currently, Wangler is completing a Doctor of Management – Healthcare Management and Leadership at Colorado Technical University, with an anticipated graduation in June 2025. Her dissertation research focuses on nurse educator work-life balance strategies, addressing a critical challenge in nursing academia and contributing to long-term faculty well-being and retention.
Additionally, Wangler is a Board-Certified Nurse Coach, integrating principles of empowerment and self-discovery into her work. Her approach reflects the broader values upheld by the LRSC nursing faculty—creating safe, student-centered environments that emphasize ethical practice, resilience, and lifelong learning. “I believe in creating a safe space for individuals to explore their current reality and guiding them to become the driving force in their own lives,” she explains.
At Lake Region State College, Wangler’s dedication aligns with a team of educators committed to fostering excellence across the nursing curriculum. Her mentorship and collaborative spirit contribute to a strong program culture that prepares students for licensure and real-world practice in diverse healthcare settings.
Loretta attributes her success not only to her educational achievements but also to her unwavering adherence to the Nursing Code of Ethics. “Practicing with integrity, compassion, and professionalism is at the core of what I do,” she states. This commitment to ethical practice ensures that her students are not only well-versed in clinical skills but also equipped with the moral compass necessary for the nursing profession.
As Loretta Wangler continues to inspire and educate, she collaborates with dedicated educators and is shaping the future of nursing in North Dakota, one student at a time.
