Heights Rheumatology P.A., founded by Dr. Ramona Mihu, MD, CCD, is open in the vibrant Houston Heights, offering a dedicated approach to diagnosing and treating a wide range of autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. Dr. Mihu, a board-certified and fellowship-trained rheumatologist, graduated in the top 5% of her class from Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania in 2004. After initially pursuing a residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery, she transitioned to the United States in 2007 to engage in groundbreaking research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She completed her internal medicine residency in 2011 and further specialized in rheumatology at Baylor College of Medicine, graduating in 2013.
Following her fellowship, Dr. Mihu contributed to the academic Rheumatology Department at Houston Methodist and practiced at Advanced Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine until establishing Heights Rheumatology P.A. in May 2023. Her extensive training and diverse experience in both research and clinical settings enable her to provide personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
As a Certified Clinical Densitometrist, a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, and a member of numerous prestigious medical organizations, including the International Society for Clinical Densitometry, the Harris County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, the Medical Society of the State of New York, the American College of Physicians, and the Romanian College of Physicians, Dr. Mihu remains at the forefront of advancements in rheumatological care. She has been recognized as a “Super Doctor” by Texas Monthly Magazine for five consecutive years (2019-2024), a testament to her dedication to excellence in patient care.
Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Mihu enjoys spending quality time outdoors with her husband, young son, and their four dogs and six cats. An avid motorsports enthusiast, she balances her passion for medicine with her love for adventure.
