Cynthia Moore Bonner, MD, FAAP, is proud to be a part of the team of expert neonatologists at Alabama Neonatal Medicine, a division of Baptist Health. With over 35 years of experience, Dr. Bonner brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate approach to the care of newborns with complex medical needs.
Located in Montgomery, Alabama, Alabama Neonatal Medicine is committed to delivering exceptional care to premature and critically ill infants. The practice works closely with the Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) at Baptist Medical Center South and Baptist Medical Center East, where state-of-the-art technology and specialized medical teams provide the highest level of care. The NICUs are designed to address a wide range of neonatal conditions, ensuring that each infant receives individualized treatment tailored to their specific needs.
In addition to the advanced facilities, the Angel One Transport Team, known as a “Rolling NICU,” plays a crucial role in the neonatal care continuum. This unique team is dedicated to providing immediate, life-saving care during the transport of critically ill newborns to the hospital, emphasizing the commitment of Baptist Health to ensure that every infant has access to essential medical services as quickly as possible.
Dr. Bonner is a proud graduate of the UAB Heersink School of Medicine, earning her Medical Degree in 1989. She completed her residency in pediatrics and her fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine in 1992 and 1995, respectively. Board-certified in neonatal-perinatal medicine through the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Bonner is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Having served as an Assistant Professor at the UAB Heersink School of Medicine – Montgomery Campus since 2014, Dr. Bonner has dedicated her career to educating future healthcare professionals while providing exemplary care to her patients. Her commitment to both education and clinical practice underscores her belief in the importance of nurturing the next generation of pediatric healthcare providers.
