In 2008, she embarked on a three-year fellowship in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine at Drexel University – Hahnemann University Hospital, where she initially focused on Cystic Fibrosis.
During her fellowship, Dr. Maouelainin encountered exceptional mentors who inspired her to pursue one of the first accredited interventional pulmonology fellowships at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Philadelphia. This pioneering program was established at a time when interventional pulmonology was still emerging, even at leading tertiary care centers. Upon completing her fellowship in 2011, Dr. Maouelainin established Pennsylvania’s first successful private interventional pulmonology program, drawing on her extensive training and leadership experience.
Today, as the CEO and President of Lung Health Services, Dr. Maouelainin oversees daily operations while maintaining a focus on providing cutting-edge care to lung cancer patients. Lung Health Services specializes in minimally invasive procedures that allow for early diagnosis of lung cancer and other chronic lung conditions. This proactive approach enables patients to receive prompt and aggressive treatment, which has been shown to improve outcomes significantly.
