When not working, she is a American Lung Association Volunteer, and is a Former Walk for Life Aides Foundation Volunteer.

She attributes her professional success due to her experience early in her career when there were medical professionals who saw in her things she did not see in her self. They strongly encouraged her to move forward and keep learning.
