Dr. Swanson’s acclaimed career in medicine began in 1984 when he graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Upon earning his Medical Degree, he completed an internship at the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center and a residency at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, before returning to Georgetown University Hospital to complete his fellowship.
Dr. Swanson is certified by the American Board of Urology, and has been awarded the coveted title of Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is particularly known as an expert in kidney transplantation, and is a distinguished member of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons.
