Dr. May completed his undergraduate degree with Shenandoah University in Virginia. He graduated in 2012 with a Bachelors in Kinesiology focused in Exercise Science, with a minor in Biology and Psychology. He then attended the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut where he graduated with of Doctor of Chiropractic Degree in 2016.
Dr. May completed his chiropractic internship with Stony Brook University Hospital. Dr. May is trained and certified in Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab or “FAKTR”. Dr. May holds certifications in Fascial Movement Taping and Performance Movement Taping techniques, and Dry Needling. He has experience working with Olympic, professional, college, adult, high school, and youth athletes. He has worked with the New York Rangers NHL hockey team, and also worked with Bridgeport Bluefish professional baseball team. Dr. May currently practices as an associate doctor with Sport and Spine Rehab in Fairfax Virginia.
Dr. May has a strong focus on Neuromusculoskeletal evaluation, and physical rehabilitation. A Chiropractic doctor addresses Neuromusculoskeletal conditions through a combination of spinal manipulation, extremity manipulation, Physical therapy exercises, fascial manipulation, dry needling, instrumented assisted soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilizations, active release, manual therapy, cupping therapy, compression floss, massage techniques, kinesiology taping, trigger point therapy, electrical stimulation, low level laser therapy, heat, and cryotherapy.
Dr. May is a former collegiate athlete of Shenandoah University where he played men’s lacrosse. He is an avid golfer, snowboarder, and long boarder. It’s common to see him around the Washington DC region practicing what he preaches being active trying new indoor, and outdoor activities of all kind to live a happy healthy life. Dr. May grew up in Fairfax and Fauquier County Virginia. He currently calls Prince William County home with his wife, daughter and their pet cat.
