Donald R. Gore, MD, MS, Orthopedic Surgeon
Get to know Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Donald R. Gore, who serves the population of Wisconsin.
Dr. Gore graduated with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. Wanting to further his education he then attended the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine where he received his Medical Degree in 1960, giving him over five decades of experience in his field. After graduating with his Medical Degree, he completed his residency with the US Department Of Veterans Affairs. Wanting to further his training he then completed his biomechanics fellowship at the University of California. Dr. Gore served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, gaining experience in general surgery and orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Gore is currently retired, and is affiliated with Prevea Sheboygan Health Center. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and previously taught orthopedic residents and medical students at Medical College of Wisconsin and Wood Veterans Administration Medical Center, both based in Milwaukee, and has contributed the the writing of over 50 publications. He has received a Distinguished Service Award by the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Teacher of the Year Award for Orthopedic Residents at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1977 and 1984.
Orthopaedic surgeons are devoted to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. Some orthopaedists are generalists, while others specialize in certain areas of the body, others specialty focuses include shoulder and elbow, hand, and spine. Orthopaedic surgeons treat broken bones, and replace painful joints, and also treat patients for sports injuries, back pain, ruptured discs and spinal stenosis, bone tumors, carpal tunnel, hand arthritis and hand injuries, club foot, bow legs and hip dysplasia, orthopaedic trauma, limb lengthening, achilles tendon injuries, bunions and foot and ankle injuries, osteoporosis, and arthritis.
He credits his success to a strong education and family support and he enjoys downhill skiing and fly fishing in his retirement years.
