Being a registered nurse, Peggi currently serves as the Director of Nursing at The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society in Colorado. “Since our founding in 1922, we’ve been driven by a mission to share God’s love with seniors and others in need. Having been with The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society for over 11 years now, Peggi enjoys the fact that she works for a faith-based organization. She attributes her success to the team she works with, as well as the individuals who have guided and supported her.
After earning her nursing degree from Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2005, she went on to gain experience in the field of nursing. She now specializes in long-term care, which is a variety of services which help meet both the medical and non-medical needs of people with a chronic illness or disability who cannot care for themselves for long periods.
A registered nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
