Dr. Watkins completed her undergraduate degree with Spelman College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2004. She then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she graduated with a Master in Public Health in Preventative Medicine in 2008. Furthering her education she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine with her Medical Degree in 2009, giving her over a decade of experience in her field. After obtaining her Medical Degree she completed her Intern year at Howard University Hospital and completed her Psychiatry Residency Program at the University of Maryland-Sheppard Pratt.
Dr. Watkins is certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She currently practices as an independent contractor focusing primarily on the treatment of mood disorders in African American women. Prior to her independent practice, Dr Watkins served as the Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Axis Healthcare Group.
