Dr. Gary Gitnick is a highly respected and experienced physician, having been in practice for over five decades. His acclaimed career in medicine began in 1963, when he graduated with his Bachelor of Science Degree and Medical Degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in Illinois. After medical school, he completed his internship with Johns Hopkins Hospital. Driven to further his knowledge and skills, Dr. Gitnick went on to undertake his residency training with the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Gitnick is determined to enhance his patients’ quality of life, providing high quality, individualized care in order to ensure the most optimal results. He is passionate about his work, and is noted for his expertise in internal medicine, general gastroenterology, and hepatology. For his wealth of experience and knowledge, Dr. Gitnick has been featured in over 300 publications, and he is the author or editor of 64 books including “Principles and Practices of Gastroenterology and Hepatology” and “Getting Well, Staying Well.”
Dr. Gitnick has dedicated his life to delivering high quality care to his patients, and quality education to his students. He is the founder and Chair of the Board of Governors of the Fulfillment Fund, a 40-year-old nonprofit organization, which has helped over 20,000 students to finish high school and then college.
