Dr. Herrera completed her undergraduate degree from the California State University, Long Beach where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1971. Furthering her education she graduated from Barry University with a Master of Science in Counseling in 1979, followed by her Masters of Science in Psychology and her Doctor of Psychology from the Carlos Alves – Instituto Superior Técnico in 1984, giving her over four decades of experience in her field.
Dr. Herrera holds additional certification as a Certified School Psychologist as well as certification in Psychopharmacology from the American Society for Clinical Pathology. To stay up to date in his field he remains a professional member of the National Association of School Psychologists, Dade Association of School Psychologists, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Psychotherapists and Psychodiagnosticians. From 1981 to 1983 she served on part of the Florida Governor’s Council on Indian Affairs, Inc. Dr. Herrera currently practices with the Dade County School District and the International Center for Human Relations, where she holds an expertise in Child and Adolescent Psychology. She attributes her professional success to her personal drive and motivation for human development. She came from cuba to the USA with nothing but the support of her family and her drive to help people.
