Dr. Johnson is a general and advanced laparoscopic surgeon who uses laparoscopic, robotic, and open techniques to treat diseases of the colon, small intestine, appendix, gallbladder, spleen, adrenals, and complex hernias. He is certified to use the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, and uses the Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILSTM) technique.

Following the completion of his Bachelor of Arts degree from Colgate University in 1998, Dr. Johnson went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2002. Wanting to further his training, he completed his residency in surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in 2007.
Serving as Vice President of the Buffalo Surgical Society and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Dr. Johnson holds memberships in several professional organizations, including the Erie County Medical Society, the New York State Medical Society, the American Hernia Society, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.
With an unwavering commitment to his speciality, he is board-certified in surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
