Dr. Richard Ohrbach is an established Dentist and Pain Management Specialist currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Oral Diagnostic Sciences with the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in Buffalo, New York. Featuring over four decades of experience in his field, he has a special expertise in research and pain management.
Dr. Ohrbach’s career in dentistry began in 1977, when he graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Thereafter, he completed his fellowship training with the University of California, Los Angeles, before completing his Master of Science Degree in Oral Sciences in 1989 with the SUNY at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine. Pursuing advanced training, Dr. Ohrbach undertook additional fellowships with Meikai University and the University at Buffalo, where he also earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology in 1996. He then attended the University of Washington to complete both his internship and fellowship training.
Dr. Ohrbach remains a distinguished member of the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Psychological Association, the Institute of Noetic Sciences, the American Psychological Society, the Association of University Teachers or Orofacial Pain Programs, the American Pain Society, the American Association for Dental Research, and the International Association for the Study of Pain. He is passionate about providing quality care, and attributes his success to having excellent colleagues in research. In his free time, Dr. Ohrbach enjoys biking and skiing.
