He migrated to the USA in 1972. Completed his three year residency in Internal Medicine at Northport Veterans Medical Center from 1972 to 1975. He then completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology from 1975 to 1977 at the VA Medical Center Northport and the University of Oxford England.
A Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology (FACG), Dr. Nawaz is well trained and experienced endoscopist and is board-certified in Internal Medicine and twice board certified in Gastroenterology by ABIM, which is physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
