Graduating with her medical degree from Universidad de La Sabana in Colombia in 2002, Dr. Ortiz-Cardenas completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey in 2011.
Most recently, she served as an Associate OB-GYN Attending Physician at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. In addition, she has worked as a Research Scholar in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology Research at New York University Grossman School of Medicine, and is a regular presenter at industry conferences and events.
A Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Ortiz-Cardenas is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). The mission of the ABOG is to define specialty standards, certify obstetricians and gynecologists, and facilitate continuous learning to advance knowledge, practice, and professionalism in women’s health.
Obstetrics and gynecology (OB-GYN) is the medical specialty that encompasses the two subspecialties of obstetrics (covering pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period) and gynecology (covering the health of the female reproductive system – vagina, uterus, ovaries, and breasts).
