Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery Center of Texas is one of the only three offices in the area that perform gynecomastia surgery, or male breast reduction. With more than 1,000 procedures performed, Dr. Wilcox is world-renowned for his technique that minimizes scarring on the front of the chest. After passing on this technique to his colleague, Dr. Morrissey is now an expert in gynecomastia surgery as well. The doctor-duo are also the founders of a world-class skin care and cosmetic surgery facility that provides a wide range of services.
Born in Kensington, Connecticut, Dr. Morrissey attended local schools, graduating with honors. He then graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and earned his medical degree at the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
He began his surgical training as an intern in general surgery at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas before entering the United States Air Force. He served three years as a Captain and Flight Surgeon with the 20th Bomb Squadron at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana.
After completing his active duty military service, Dr. Morrissey returned to Dallas and Methodist Dallas Medical Center to pursue his training in general surgery. Upon completion, he went on to continue specialized training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin. He also completed additional training in aesthetic surgery in Miami and San Francisco.
Performing cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, head, neck, trunk and extremities, he is board-certified through the American Board of Plastic Surgery, whose mission is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
Remaining current with the latest techniques in plastic and cosmetic surgery by regularly attending medical seminars, workshops, and conferences, Dr. Morrissey is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.
Additionally, he is a member in good standing of the medical staffs of Methodist Dallas Medical Center and Presbyterian Hospital of Plano.
