A trusted pediatric hematologist-oncologist, Dr. Francisco is an Assistant Professor in the Jack Martin Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at the Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital’s Children’s Cancer Program in the Jack and Lucy Clark Department of Pediatrics at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. His focus is to provide dedicated and compassionate multidisciplinary care for patients with hematologic and oncologic disorders.
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is an international leader in medical and scientific training, biomedical research, and patient care. In regards to his educational background, Dr. Francisco received his medical degree from the Texas Tech University El Paso School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in pediatrics at The University of California-Irvine School of Medicine/Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
Subsequently, he completed his fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, where he completed an additional year in a basic science research fellowship. During his fellowships, he was involved in research defining the hemostatic system’s role in cancer metastasis and served as Co-Chief Fellow.
As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics and board eligible in pediatric hematology/oncology by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
