He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Psychology from the Georgia State University, and graduated with his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1985. He then went on to complete his internship and residency in psychiatry at the same educational venue in 1989, serving as one of two Chief Residents during his final year.
Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). The ABPN is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to serving the professions of psychiatry and neurology.
