Get to know Registered Nurse Charles Abbott.

Charles graduated from IVY Tech community college at in 1994. Since graduating he has spent most of his career working in the field of Addictions/Mental Health. He has been both a staff nurse and a nurse manager at the Salvation Army Harbor Light Center Detoxification Unit in Indianapolis, IN., also a Nurse Manager at Resource Treatment Center caring for adolescents, and now is a nurse for Choices Emergency Response Team taking his experience into a community setting. It is his goal to continue to serve those in need for as long as possible.  

The main role of a registered nurse is to assist physicians in providing treatment to patients suffering from various medical conditions. They must also stay up-to-date with new tools and technology to help provide the best care to patients and families, and the best support to doctors and other healthcare professionals. Registered nurses must possess excellent communication, emotional intelligence, teamwork, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
