A knowledgeable psychologist, Dr. Mercado is the Founder of Brooklyn Integrative Psychological Services, PLLC, based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. She has worked with a wide range of populations, including LGBTQIA+, serious mental illness, autism spectrum disorders/neurodiversity, perinatal and student populations, as well as individuals with developmental disability/intellectual disability. Pertaining to her educational pursuits, Dr. Mercado earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia University, before going on to attend Long Island University, where she received her Master’s in Applied Psychology and her Doctor of Psychology degrees. 

As a native New Yorker, she brings her own cultural background to her work, and is known for being completely non-judgmental and open-minded. She is also keen on merging evidence-based therapies with alternative “new-wave” therapies, such as the intersection of western neuropsychology and eastern philosophies.

Cultivating a comprehensive approach to improving her patients’ overall health, Dr. Mercado takes into consideration their culture, identity, systems, environment, nutrition, pharmacology, current events, and physical health. Her personal interests and research focus on diverse and underrepresented populations, including those from creative or taboo subcultures, intersecting minority identities, and non-traditional lifestyles and identities.
