Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, also known as bioidentical hormone therapy or natural hormone therapy, is the use of hormones that are identical on a molecular level with endogenous hormones in hormone replacement therapy. With the support of his expert team, Dr. Pettle uses the latest technology and techniques in hormone replacement therapy to tackle the problems associated with aging and menopause.

Dr. Pettle graduated from the University of Toronto medical school in 1969. Thereafter, he went on to complete his fellowship training in obstetrics and gynecology in 1974.

Dr. Pettle practiced obstetrics and gynecology for twenty-five years at The Etobicoke General Hospital in Toronto, where from 1990 to 1994, he was the Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology. During his active years in obstetrics, he was the Canadian pioneer in the Leboyer Gentle Birth Technique, which incorporates a soothing and joyous atmosphere, using dim lights and warm baths, for a gentle birthing process.

Dr. Pettle’s medical and community affiliations include the American College of Infertility, the Canadian Medical Association, Physicians for Peace, the Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Canada), the Ontario Medical Association, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (Canada).

Dr. Pettle has published numerous articles on natural hormones and his adaptations to the birth process. They include: Gentle Birthing, a feature article in the Canadian Family Physician Journal, November 1978; Gentle Questions of Birth, in Issues of Health, Macleans Magazine, April 1982; and Endometriosis: Doctor Travels 4000 Miles for Patients Surgery, a feature article in the Medical Post. Dr. Pettle is in demand for radio, TV and print media interviews as an authority on natural hormone and integrative medical therapies for women. He lectures to doctors, nurses, and the public on The Integrative Management of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and Menopause. “My specialty is the use of bio-identical hormones in women of all ages but especially in perimenopause and menopause. We practice preventive and integrative gynecology with women who know a great deal about their own bodies and truly understand natural hormones and their benefits vs the old use of Synthetics and their complications” he said.

Dr. Pettle is joined in his work by his wife, Carol, a registered nurse and formally Head Nurse of the Labor and Delivery Department at The Etobicoke General Hospital. He is a father of five children and a grandfather of six grandchildren: Jory, Mathew, Andrew, Meagan, Rachel and Mitchell. “All that I have or need in this world is within their eyes” said Dr. Pettle.
