The talented and caring team at Arizona Neurosurgery and Spin focus on minimally invasive spine surgery. Utilizing the latest training, technology, and treatments we can do more with less. A graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Spitalieri pursued a residency in neurosurgery at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California. This was followed by a fellowship in neurosurgery at Cooper Hospital in Camden, New Jersey and a fellowship in pediatric spine surgery at Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia.

An expert in minimally invasive procedures, he is board-certified in neurological surgery by the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery (AOBS). The AOBS is an organization that provides board certification to qualified surgeons who meet stringent standards for patient care and training.

Dr. Spitalieri settled on his career choice when he was only seven years old, exploring the inner workings of the brain and spine while perusing one of his father’s college anatomy textbooks. Dr. Spitalieri attributes his strong work ethic and problem-solving skills to those early days, working alongside his father, in the family’s garage in New Jersey.

In honor of his clinical expertise, Dr. Spitalieri has been the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014, 2017, 2018), Patients’ Choice Award (2017, 2018), and On-Time Doctor Award (2017, 2018).

After living in large urban areas, he and his wife Donna – a Labor and Delivery Nurse and Nurse Midwife – decided they wanted to live in less populated communities. The couple learned about the Quad Cities through Kiplinger’s Magazine, which touted the area’s four mild seasons and diverse activities ranging from the arts to the outdoors. “We love it here. The people are friendly, and we always find something to do.”

Dr. Spitalieri has been practicing and treating patients for over 15 years. In 2020 he opened the Arizona Neurosurgery & Spine Center in Prescott, Arizona to offer residents the most innovative surgical techniques with the highest quality, individualized, and compassionate patient care. No longer will patients have to travel to Phoenix or beyond to seek specialty spine care.
