Dr. Holub is a Fellow of the American College Emergency Physicians. Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, or FACEP, is a post-nominal title used to indicate that an emergency physician’s education and training, professional qualifications, and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). In order to become a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, a physician must be an active, life, honorary, or international member of ACEP for three consecutive years and primarily practice as an emergency physician, exclusive of training. The physician must also be board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine, or by the American Board of Pediatrics in pediatric emergency medicine.

Dr. Holub received his medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1977. He then went on to complete an internship (transitional year) at Georgetown University Hospital, followed by a residency in General Surgery at VA Medical Center.  

Emergency medicine, also known as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with the care of illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. Emergency physicians care for unscheduled and undifferentiated patients of all ages. An emergency physician, like Dr. Holub, is a physician who works at an emergency department to care for ill patients. They specialize in advanced cardiac life support, resuscitation, trauma care such as fractures and soft tissue injuries, and management of other life-threatening situations.

Dr. Holub is married to Ann Louise Vizzi. The couple have 1 child together. In his spare time, Dr. Holub enjoys reading, hiking, camping, hunting, and skiing.
