Aaron Glen Rosenberg, MD, FACS, FAAOS, Orthopaedic Surgeon with Rush University Medical Center

Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system. Orthopaedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma, spine diseases, sports injuries, degenerative diseases, infections, tumors, and congenital disorders.

Dr. Rosenberg obtained his medical degree in 1978 from Albany Medical College and completed his residency at Rush University Medical Center in orthopaedics in 1983, followed by his fellowship in adult reconstruction/oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. 

Dr. Rosenberg began independent clinical practice at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois in 1984 specializing in hip and knee joint replacement surgery.  He is a professor,  senior attending & Emeritus Director of the Adult Reconstructive Orthopaedic Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and  the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). 

He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and has been both Director as well as an instructor of  many courses at the AAOS Orthopaedic Learning Center. A member of the Hip Society, the Knee Society, and the International Hip Society and serving as President of the Advisory Board of the Zimmer Institute, Doctor Rosenberg has been co-editor of definitive textbooks on surgery of the hip (The Adult Hip-Lippincott, William & Wilkins, 2000) and the knee (The Adult Knee-Lippincott, William & Wilkins 2002) as well as editor of the AAOS instructional CD-ROMs the Arthritic Knee and Extensile Exposures of the Hip. 

In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Rosenberg has focused his career on the education of surgeons in both the United States and around the world, personally training over 150 orthopaedic residents and more than 100 orthopaedic fellows. He has published hundreds of scientific papers and has delivered  over 1000 scientific presentations at meetings in the United States, Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, and New Zealand. He holds several patents related to hip and knee implant design and has been instrumental in the design of several joint replacement devices, including the VerSys Hip, The NexGen Knee, The ZMR Revision Hip System as well as the Zimmer Unicompartmental Knee.
