Dr. Chandrasekaran, affectionately known as Dr. Chandra, has quickly made a name for himself in the field of surgery since commencing his career in 2016. He is currently in practice at Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, located in Ridgecrest, California as well as at Barton Memorial Hospital, located in South Lake Tahoe, CA.
Specializing in a wide range of surgical procedures, his expertise encompasses general and traumatic injury, critical care medicine, abdominal solid organ and hollow viscus surgery, elective and emergency hernia surgery, malignant biopsy, and operative/non operative wound care. His dedication to staying at the forefront of surgical advancements ensures that his patients receive the highest quality of care possible.
Graduating from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, Dr. Chandra furthered his studies by obtaining Master’s degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Public Health from Tufts University in Boston. His journey led him to St. George’s University where he earned his medical degree. He honed his surgical skills during his residency at Columbia University/Harlem Hospital in New York, where he distinguished himself as Chief Resident in his final year.
With an unwavering commitment to his specialty, the doctor is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
Two years ago, he made the move to California with his family, where he continues to positively impact the medical community. Recently, he and his wife celebrated the arrival of their first child.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Chandra finds solace in various hobbies that enrich his life outside of the operating room.
