Ajomol is a board-certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC) and a certified nurse educator. She is currently serving patients at L&M Medical Clinic – the leading Medical Center in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Since 2008, the Center has been offering proactive, quality healthcare in a safe and comfortable environment. Concurrently she is working as a full time charge nurse in Stepdown Unit ( Intermediate Care Unit ) of Aventura Hospital and Medical Centre in South Florida .
Ajomol’s areas of specialization include cardiology, neurology, and chemotherapy. Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart as well as some parts of the circulatory system. Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Chemotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that uses one or more anti-cancer drugs as part of a standardized chemotherapy regimen.
Ajomol also has experience treating patients with sepsis – a potentially life-threatening condition caused by the body’s response to an infection.
Ajomol received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the Goverment School of Nursing in 2001. Thereafter, she went on to receive her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Nurse Educator ( MSED)from Florida International University in 2018.
Ajomol holds professional memberships with several organizations, including the Florida Nurses Association, the National League of Nurses, the American Nurses Association, American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.
Ajomol holds certifications in chemotherapy & biotherapy from Oncology Nursing Society and stroke certification from National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
When asked why she chose a career in nursing, Ajomol said that she had always had a passion for nursing and for helping people. She loves to see her patients get better in her care. She also has a love for teaching and she instills her own passion for nursing in the new nurses that she teaches.
Family nurse practitioners (FNPs) are advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) who work autonomously or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to deliver family-focused care. Given the rather broad nature of the “family” patient population focus, FNPs offer a wide range of healthcare services that revolve around the family unit; from health promotion and disease prevention to direct care and counseling across the lifespan.
A certified nurse educator is a nurse who teaches and prepares licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and registered nurses (RNs) for entry into practice positions. They can also teach in various patient care settings to provide continuing education to licensed nursing staff.
