Dr. Crespo is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon at Illinois Bone & Joint Institute. After completing medical school at New York Medical College, he trained for five years as an orthopedic surgery resident at the prestigious NYU Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases. During this training, he cared for patients at two of the busiest Level I trauma centers in New York City.

In recognition of his leadership skills and dedication to education, he was named Executive Chief Resident in his final year of training, and was the recipient of the Outstanding Clinical Research Award. At NYU, he received one-on-one mentoring by experts in all orthopedic subspecialties, including trauma, joint replacement, and sports medicine.

Following his residency, Dr. Crespo pursued an additional year of specialized training in orthopedic trauma surgery at Stanford University. Here, he studied the advanced management of complex fractures and post-traumatic arthritis and deformity, including total hip arthroplasty performed via an anterior approach, under the tutelage of renowned leaders in the field of orthopedic trauma.

Among his other roles, he maintains hospital privileges at the AMITA Health Saint Joseph Hospital, Advocate Christ Medical Center, Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, River North Sameday Surgery Center, and Weiss Memorial Hospital.

Orthopedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system.
