Dr. Braunstein is a board-certified oculoplastic surgeon who specializes in the medical and surgical management of the eyelid, lacrimal orbital disorders, as well as aesthetic rejuvenation of the face. She works at Advanced Eye Care Center in Wayne, New Jersey, which is regarded as one of the leading eye care centers in the United States.

As an expert in surgical procedures around the eyes, forehead and eyebrows, Dr. Braunstein offers each patient customized treatment plans tailored to their individual needs. With her advanced use of non-surgical modalities such as fillers and Botox, she achieves natural aesthetic results for rejuvenation of the entire face.

Alongside her clinical role, she serves as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Columbia University, where she teaches residents on a weekly basis. 

A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, which is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America. 

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Braunstein earned her medical degree from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2007. She then went on to complete her internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in 2008, followed by her residency in ophthalmology at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center in 2011. She also completed a fellowship in orbital, ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in 2013. 

To date, she has authored numerous articles and book chapters and has presented her research at professional society meetings throughout the United States.

Oculoplastic surgery (also known as ophthalmic plastic surgery) is a specialized dynamic field of medicine that combines the microsurgery of ophthalmology with the cosmetic principles of plastic surgery. This branch of ophthalmology focuses on plastic and reconstructive surgery of the eyelids, tear ducts, and orbit, along with cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and brows. Oculoplastic surgeons are ophthalmologists who specialize in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the periorbital and facial tissues including the eyelids, eyebrows, forehead, cheeks, orbit (bony cavity around the eye), and lacrimal (tear) system.
