In practice since 1991, Dr. Askari is a highly trained cardiologist who is a part of the team of professionals at Affiliated Cardiologists of Arizona. He sees patients at the offices in Phoenix, Maricopa, West Valley, and Chandler.

He is also an active medical staff member at Phoenix Regional Medical Center, St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Banner Payson Medical Center, and Thumb Butte Medical Center. Additionally, Dr. Askari is an Assistant Professor with the University of Arizona Banner Medical Center. 

The doctor’s acclaimed career in medicine began after he earned his medical degree from Universidad Mundial Dominicana School of Medicine in the Domenican Republic in 1984. Upon relocating to the United States, he performed his internship and residency in internal medicine, and his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at St. Luke’s Hospital.

With a commitment to excellence in heart health, Dr. Askari is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. 

A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), he is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Internal Medicine, and the Arizona Medical Association. He has established clinics in rural Arizona neighborhoods and communities such as South Mountain, Quartzsite, Payson, and Globe. 

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).
