A committed radiologist, Dr. Mian is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He is a member of MIR’s neuroradiology section and played a leading role in forming a comprehensive pediatric neuroradiology curriculum for medical students, residents and fellows at the School of Medicine.

The Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology (MIR) is a globally recognized center of imaging excellence and the academic radiology department at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. MIR provides a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic patient care services at Barnes-Jewish and St. Louis Children’s hospitals, Barnes-Jewish West County, Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Barnes-Jewish St. Peters and Progress West hospitals, and Siteman Cancer Center, among others.

Educated in the United States, Dr. Mian completed a fellowship in pediatric neuroradiology at the University of Pennsylvania and a residency in radiology and fellowship in neuroradiology at Yale University. He earned his medical degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, and received his bachelor’s degree from Colby College.

Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in diagnostic radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR). The ABR is a not-for-profit physician-led organization that oversees the certification and ongoing professional development of specialists in diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, and medical physics.

From 2016 to 2019, he was a member of the pediatric economics committee for the American College of Radiology. He is active in several organizations and societies, including the American Roentgen Ray Society, the American Society of Neuroradiology, the American Society of Pediatric Neuroradiology, and the Radiological Society of North America.

Radiology refers to the field of medicine that uses non-invasive imaging scans to diagnose a patient. A radiologist is a physician who uses imaging methodologies to diagnose and manage patients and provide therapeutic options.

As a testament to his success, Dr. Mian has been the recipient of the 2020 Loeb Teaching Fellowship Award by the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, 2019 SPR Seed Grant by the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, 2018 Excellence in Patient Care BRAVO Award by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, 2016 Certificate of Merit, Vascular and/or Interventional Radiology by the ARRS, 2016 Best Case, Cardiovascular Section by the American Institute of Radiologic Pathology, and 2015 Introduction to Academic Radiology Award by the Radiological Society of North America.

Speaking several languages, he is fluent in English, Spanish, and Russian.
