She earned her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 2008, and completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in nephrology at the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in 2011 and 2013, respectively.

An expert in her field, the doctor is board-certified in nephrology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
