His passion for medicine stems from a young age. Having a father who was a psychiatrist inspired him to pursue a similar path in which he could help people. In 1982, he received his medical degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Services.
Upon receiving his medical degree, Dr. Greenlee completed an internship and residency in primary care/internal medicine in 1985 from The George Washington University Medical Center.
Dedicated to clinical excellence, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
From 1985 to 1991, Dr. Greenlee worked at the George Washington University Department of Health Services as both an attending physician for approximately 2,000 patients, as well as an assistant professor for third- and fourth-year medical students. He then continued to serve as a preceptor for primary care residents and from 1989 to 1991, where he also acted as the Director for the Division of Adult Medicine, supervising half the department’s practice and clinical budget. He was also appointed as the group leader in the Department’s Total Quality Improvement Program.
Moreover, he has served as an Associate Professor and Volunteer Faculty for medical students in primary care clinical rotations and Longitudinal Primary Care Clinic at the George Washington University Medical Center since 1991.
Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
