The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Specializing in the medical treatment of adults, Dr. Landa-Galindez serves on national committees, including the American College of Physicians Capstone Review Board, the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine Medical Education Research Committee, and the Association of American Medical Colleges Council of Faculty and Academic Societies.
Her research interests include integration of ethics training, genetics education and evidence-based medicine during the clinical years of medical student education, assessment of Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) during clerkships, osteoporosis risk assessment, and the management and evaluation of outcomes post COVID-19 infection.
Internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. Physicians specializing in internal medicine are called internists. They manage and prevent common and complex diseases by providing comprehensive care and promoting overall well-being.
In 2017, Dr. Landa-Galindez received the HWCOM Excellence in Medical School Teaching Award.
